A Vietnamese classic reborn, hip Korean drinking den with food, modern British fare, Japan-worthy takeout-only sushi, healthy delivery and, yes, superb pizza… six standout new eateries plus four new takeout spots. As always, I’ve personally vetted and visited each:

Vietnamese Classic Reborn: Crustacean, FiDi
Opening in the Financial District in July 2025, Crustacean is a Vietnamese San Francisco legend from pioneering chef Helene An, who first opened Thanh Long in the Outer Sunset a couple blocks from the ocean, still going strong since 1971. Her famed Vietnamese roasted Dungeness crab and garlic noodles have drawn crowds ever since. Her expanding House of AN, the family’s restaurant group, led to Crustacean on Polk Street in 1991, Crustacean in Beverly Hills in 1995, with growing offshoots and restaurants Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia, Santa Clara and Crustacean’s An the Go food truck.
